For Fall/Winter 2025, presented in Milan in March 2025, Avavav staged one of its most overtly macabre runway environments. Models emerged from grave-like pits onto a grass-covered runway, turning the entrance of each look into a resurrection scene. The collection, titled “The Hole,” explored death, fragility, and control through gothic streetwear, skeletal motifs, and armor-like silhouettes. The setting transformed a conventional catwalk into a landscape of burial and emergence, while the clothing reinforced the tension between bodily vulnerability and defensive protection. As the second season of Avavav’s collaboration with Adidas Originals, the show continued Karlsson’s practice of using theatrical failure, mortality, and physical danger as metaphors for fashion’s rigid systems and relentless demand for performance.
